Acronis launches free deduplication as part of its disaster recovery offering

05.02.10

Free Deduplication Special Limited Time Offer runs from 1st February till 31st March 2010

LONDON, UK, 5 February, 2010 — Acronis is offering its Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Deduplication solution for free* as part of a campaign to help businesses reduce their overall storage costs. Users are entitled to a free deduplication licence with every advanced edition of its Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 software purchased.

With deduplication, businesses may cut storage requirements by up to 90 percent by eliminating multiple backup copies of redundant data. Acronis helps organisations to reduce costs and improve efficiencies through this technology. Acronis has 22,000 deduplication installations worldwide and is now seeking to extend deduplication savings to more customers.

Deduplication may dramatically reduce the cost of storage requirements, but the expense of managing storage can be as much as four times the pure hardware, software and other tangible costs, therefore it is critical that an organisation also analyses the overall costs of their storage infrastructure.

“By integrating data deduplication into the backup process, Acronis brings deduplication benefits to organizations. Customers can benefit from storage cost savings without any additional hardware investment or management overhead,” said Laurent Dedenis, Executive Vice President EMEA, Acronis. “In addition, Acronis offers system and data recovery for physical and virtual environments, as well as deduplication in one solution. With Acronis, users have complete and cost-effective protection, not only for their data, but also for their systems and applications.”

The promotion is available on the Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Deduplication option which is compatible with the advanced editions of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10. The promotion runs until the end of March, and there is no limit to the number of licences. To find out how much you could save with deduplication, visit Acronis’ free deduplication calculator.

Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 is a portfolio of disaster recovery products that combine data deduplication, enhanced support for virtual environments, and centralised management features based on the vendor’s leading disk imaging and bare metal technology. It simplifies and automates backup and restore processes across Windows and Linux environments, while having the ability to manage geographically distributed PCs, workstations, and servers and scale from one to thousands of machines.

* For a limited time offer February 1, 2010 through March 31, 2010, excludes maintenance and support.
